In a festive ceremony, Salisbury University President Janet Dudley-Eshbach joined members of the campus community and Rinnier Development Company Vice President Blair Rinnier to break ground on SU’s new Sea Gull Square (SGS) residence hall and retail complex—the first residence hall to be built on main campus in two decades. At 230,000 square feet, the five-story, $45 million project, located on the site of the former Allenwood Shopping Center on Route 13, also will become main campus’ largest residence hall with 605 beds in apartment style units for upperclassmen.  A gateway for the southeast corner of campus, the facility is expected to open in fall 2011.
