This year, Salisbury University faculty and staff celebrated the season in a festive new location: the fourth-floor Assembly Hall of the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons. “This is really my way – and the University’s way – of saying thank you,” SU President Janet Dudley-Eshbach told attendees of the annual President’s Holiday Social.
During the event, she spotlighted recent nominees for the University System of Maryland Board of Regents’ Faculty Awards for Excellence: Drs. Michele Schlehofer of Psychology and Stephen Habay of Chemistry. She also recognized Todd Smith, Web Office, who won a Regents’ Staff Award earlier this year, along with SU’s other nominees: Tammy Donaway, Perdue School; and Melinda Taylor, Seidel School.
Attendees enjoyed refreshments and won gifts including SU sweatshirts, water bottles, merchandise certificates and more. Many also gave back to the greater community, bringing non-perishable goods for the Maryland Food Bank and donating to the Maryland Charity Campaign, including the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore.
