Salisbury University’s Sea Gull Stadium was packed for Homecoming and Family Weekend, with thousands of parents, siblings, alumni and other special friends visiting campus. Those at the Pre-Game Alumni Barbecue and tailgating enjoyed warm, sunny weather. Fans excitedly watched as the football team defeated Christopher Newport, 17-7, with men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball also playing home matches. A family ice cream social, post-game jazz social, and many class reunions and affinity-group gatherings added to the day’s excitement.
Also popular were the Taste of the Chesapeake dinner and jazz brunch. Others enjoyed a recital by music faculty and alumni. Events earlier in the week included job and internship fairs, a breakfast for alumni who work at SU, a luncheon for retired faculty and staff, and a dinner for four new Hall of Fame inductees. The Student Government Association and other groups also held activities including a talent competition, volunteerism fair, wing and ice cream eating contests, a color run, an Untouchables Dance performance, and more.
