Some 124 golfers participated in the 30th annual Salisbury University Golf Classic on Thursday, May 8, at Glen Riddle Golf Club in Berlin, MD, to raise funds for the SU Foundation, Inc.
“Over $35,000 was raised to help future Sea Gull students”, said Amy Waters, SU’s director of leadership giving and stewardship. “Our annual tournament is a success because of the great group of people participating. The turnout from our local and regional businesses with continual sponsorship support shows their commitment to the University and our students. We can’t thank them enough.”
A field of 31 teams competed for prizes and bragging rights. Winners included:
Closest to the pin was Rick Hoff; longest drive went to Mike Lichniak. The event’s gold sponsor was The Mason Companies; silver sponsors were Black Diamond Catering and Pritchett Controls, Inc.; bronze sponsors were BB&T and Blind Industries and Services of Maryland; and Sea Gull Team Sponsors were Cybex and Long, Badger and Sheller. The day-long event wrapped up with live and silent auctions.
