Review the school and advising calendars with your student.
Make sure your student knows who their Advisor is and how to contact them.
Understand that your student is responsible for making sure they are on track. Their Faculty Advisor is a good resource for help in this area.
Talk with your student about their major and encourage them to research their choice through Career Services, Department Chairs, Faculty, and their Advisor.
Speak with your student about their academic plan and progression for admission into the business school.
Discuss with your student the courses they will take and remind them to check the website for updates about course registration.
Discuss academic problems with your student and tell them to seek assistance through campus resources.
Encourage your student to become involved in the business school and campus.
Review the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
