A.L. Fleming Memorial Scholarship
Application Due Date: Monday, April 7, 2014

This $400 one-year scholarship is awarded to one junior pursuing a major in the Perdue School of Business. The student must have 60 credits completed and be eligible for admission to one of the upper division (professional) programs in the Perdue School. They must be a full-time student with a minimum overall GPA of 3.5 in all college work already completed. This student will have demonstrated outstanding leadership potential and exceptional academics.

Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a junior, senior or master’s student. The chapter may select a current chapter member, an alumnus of the chapter or a student who will be invited to become a Beta Gamma Sigma member during the spring of the nominating year. Each chapter’s scholarship recipient must complete the Beta Gamma Sigma scholarship application, including the required essay. Funding for this scholarship is from the Beta Gamma Sigma Society and the dean of the business school. For more information please see the Student President of Beta Gamma Sigma.

The Burke Family Information Systems Scholarship Program
Application Due Date: Monday, April 7, 2014

To recognize an Information systems major who has demonstrated outstanding potential in the Information Technology field. The $500 scholarship in nonrenewable and will be awarded to a rising sophomore or junior in good standing in the Perdue School of Business. Students must be full time and have a minimum 3.0 GPA in all college work already completed, including transfer work, if any. Particular consideration is given to students that are actively involved with information systems and technology and are interested in becoming a Business Analyst, Technology Specialist, Project Manager, or Information Technology Consultant.

Calafiura Scholarship

This $1,500 scholarship is awarded to a full-time senior or rising senior accounting major for his/her final one or two semesters. Students must have completed, or be in the process of completing at the time of application, the following courses: two principles courses, two intermediate courses and one elective accounting course. The student must be eligible with and maintain a minimum of a 2.8 overall GPA, with a minimum 3.0 GPA in all accounting courses. The most recent completed semester’s GPA will be utilized. Interested applicants must apply in writing to obtain consideration for this scholarship. Applications may be obtained from the Accounting Department Chair of the Perdue School.

Delmarva Chapter, Institute of Management Accountants Award

The Institute of Management Accountants Award is an unencumbered gift to an outstanding senior in accounting and is based on academic performance, leadership, and involvement in campus and community activities. For more information please see the Accounting Department Chair of the Perdue School.

Dolle Scholarship for Current Students
Application Due Date: Monday, April 7, 2014

This $1,000 one-year scholarship is awarded to a rising junior pursing a major in the Perdue School of Business. The student must have 60 credits completed and be eligible for admission to one of the upper division (professional) programs in the Perdue School. They must be a full-time student with a minimum overall GPA of 3.25 in all college work already completed. Students who are recipients of any other Perdue School tuition assistance scholarships are not eligible for the Dolle scholarship. Students must submit written application and two letters of recommendation. Retention of the scholarship requires maintenance of a 3.25 GPA.

Dolle Scholarship for Transfer Students

This $1,000 (if funds available) one-year scholarship is awarded to an incoming transfer student that is a rising junior with a major in the Perdue School of Business. The student must have 60 credits completed and be eligible for admission to one of the upper division (professional) programs in the Perdue School. They must be a full-time student with a minimum overall GPA of 3.25 in all college work already completed. Students who are recipients of any other Perdue School tuition assistance scholarships are not eligible for the Dolle scholarship. Students must submit written applications and two letters of recommendation. Retention of the scholarship requires maintenance of a 3.25 GPA.

FMA @ SU Leadership Award

The $500 FMA @ SU Leadership Award is awarded annually to a student majoring in finance, graduating in December or May of the academic year in which the award is given.  The recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in all bona fide finance courses already completed and is a leader in The Financial Management Association at Salisbury University chapter.

Holland Business Scholarship

The $2,000 W. Tracy and Frances Lord Holland Scholarship is awarded annually to a rising junior or senior in good standing in the Perdue School of Business who has demonstrated financial need and is a resident of Wicomico County. This award is renewable, pending the availability of funds, based on the maintenance of the above criteria. Students must submit written applications and two letters of recommendation.

Khazeh Family Distinguished Senior Award
Application Due Date: February 28, 2014

The $1,000 Khazeh Family Distinguished Senior Award is awarded annually in honor of Dr. Kashi Khazeh’s parents to recognize one distinguished Perdue School graduating senior, either in finance or in international business. The recipients must have a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade point average as well as a minimum 3.55 grade point average in all bona fide finance/international business courses already completed. They must also have demonstrated leadership roles and have been involved in extracurricular activities.

 

Application Process:

I. Minimum qualifications for consideration are:

  1. Student applicant(s) must be Perdue School seniors in Finance or International Business, graduating in December or May of the academic year in which the award is given.

  2. Student applicant(s) must have a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade point average. Additionally, students must have a minimum 3.55 grade point average in all bona fide finance/international business courses already completed. The applicants for the finance award must have more than 12 hours of 300/400 level required finance courses while the applicants for international business award must have more than 12 hours of 200/300/400 level required international business courses (including the required language, geography, and political science) at time of application.

  3. Students must submit an application form which includes information about leadership roles, extracurricular activities, other awards/honors, and an essay on why they should be selected.

  4. At least one reference letter should be submitted with the student’s application.

  5. Although the GPA will be considered, leadership roles, extracurricular activities, other awards/honors, etc., will be emphasized.

Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants Award

This award is presented annually to a junior who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in accounting, ranking in the top 10 percent of the class, and who has evidenced leadership or involvement in campus, community and professional activities. One scholarship is awarded annually from the Craig N. Piepenbring Memorial Fund to a rising sophomore or junior in good standing in the Perdue School of Business. Particular consideration is given to students actively involved in student activities on the SU campus. Submit written application and two letters of recommendation.

Pohanka International Travel Scholarship
Application Due Date: April 1, 2014 for Fall '14 semester abroad and November 1, 2014 for Spring '15 semester abroad

The $1,000 Pohanka International Travel Scholarship is awarded to full-time business students in good standing in the Perdue School of Business who wish to study abroad.  Students must submit the written application and essay directly to Dr. Olivier Roche, PH 360A by the due dates listed above.

The Salisbury Rotary International Club presents two $500 awards to students in the Perdue School of Business who have demonstrated outstanding ability. Selection is based on resident status, academic performance and financial need.

Each year the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business presents awards to senior business majors from each major/concentration area. These non-monetary awards are based on outstanding academic performance and input from faculty in each area of concentration.

Scott N. Ralston Memorial Scholarship
Application Due Date: Monday, April 7, 2014

This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a junior economics major enrolled in the Perdue School of Business. If there is no eligible economics major in a given year, then students in finance or business administration with a track in economics will be considered. Students must have completed 60 credits, be fulltime and have a minimum 3.3 overall GPA in all college work already completed, including transfer work. If the students being considered are finance or business administration majors in the economics track, they must be admissible to the upper division program. Submit written application and one letter of recommendation.

Trinity Transport Program Scholarship
Application Due Date: To be announced

Purpose:
The purpose of the donation shall be to create a scholarship program that will avail high-quality students a financial award and an internship opportunity in the transportation industry.

Requirements:

  1. The Trinity Transport Scholarship will be awarded to students of promise who meet the following criteria:

    1. Eligible students must be of a major of study within the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business.
      1. Specific fields of interest/majors will be determined annually by Trinity Transport, Inc.
    2. Eligible students must be of junior status.
    3. Eligible students must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of no less than a 3.0 but a 3.3 cumulative GPA or higher is preferred.
    4. Eligible students must have the desire and ability to complete a 15 hour per academic week internship during the course of the semester they receive the scholarship. Each semester is 15 weeks in length.
  2. The Trinity Transport Scholarship Program can provide funding for student expenses such as tuition, room, board, books, and fees.

    1. Each award will be $2,500 each
    2. This scholarship is renewable for a $2,500 award so long as the above noted criteria are maintained and the student expresses an interest in a career in the transportation industry.
