Keys to helping your student

  • Review the school and advising calendars with your student.

  • Make sure your student knows who their Advisor is and how to contact them.

  • Understand that your student is responsible for making sure they are on track. Their Faculty Advisor is a good resource for help in this area.

  • Talk with your student about their major and encourage them to research their choice through Career Services, Department Chairs, Faculty, and their Advisor.

  • Speak with your student about their academic plan and progression for admission into the business school.

  • Discuss with your student the courses they will take and remind them to check the website for updates about course registration.

  • Discuss academic problems with your student and tell them to seek assistance through campus resources.

  • Encourage your student to become involved in the business school and campus.

  • Review the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
