American Marketing Association (AMA)

The AMA was established to promote understanding, awareness and appeal for marketing in the business world; to deal with issues affecting the business community; and to offer an opportunity for practical, realistic experience in related vocational fields.  Membership in the AMA is open to all students.  To be national members, students must pay dues to the national organization.

Beta Alpha Psi

BAΨ is a national scholastic and professional accounting, finance and M.I.S. honor society.  The primary objective of BAP is to encourage and recognize scholastic and professional excellence in the fields of accounting, finance and M.I.S.  This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and M.I.S.; providing opportunities for self-development and association between members and practicing professionals; and encouraging a sense of ethical and social responsibility. 

Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS)

Beta Gamma Sigma is an international honor society recognizing the outstanding academic achievements of students enrolled in collegiate business management programs accredited by the AACSB International.

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student can receive in an undergraduate or master's program.  Only the top 7 percent of the junior class, the upper 10 percent of the senior class, or the top 20 percent of the graduating master's program are honored by an invitation to Beta Gamma Sigma  membership.

Financial Management Association (FMA)

The FMA is a nationally recognized organization whose purpose is to help its members explore and pursue a career in finance.  Throughout the year, the FMA will offer students a chance to participate in a variety of activities.  Some of these include community speakers, field trips and workshops.  Information about meetings is posted bimonthly on the schools bulletin boards in Holloway Hall.
 

Institute of Management Accountants (IMA)

President: Dan Witt
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Douglas Marshall, Accounting & Legal Studies

The IMA serves the purpose of increasing the accounting students knowledge within the field of accounting and enhancing networking skills.  The IMA encourages all members to be active through attendance at all IMA meetings as well as to participate in other opportunities such as: The Great Leader Lecture Series and Beta Alpha Psi (the accounting honor society).  Students work together in networking and lending a helping hand to those students in need.  To do this, we provide a tutoring service and give advice on internship programs.  The IMA is a club that likes to have fun and participates in many social gatherings including cookout parties and community service activities.  This club is open to all accounting majors.
 

Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE)

Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) is the International Honor Society in
Economics. It is one of the world's largest academic honor
societies; it currently has 578 chapters located in the United
States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Puerto
Rico, South Africa, Egypt, and France. The objectives of Omicron
Delta Epsilon are to recognize scholastic attainment and honor
outstanding achievements in economics; to establish closer ties
between students and faculty in economics within colleges and
universities, and among colleges and universities; to publish its
official journal, The American Economist; and to sponsor panels
at professional meetings as well as the Irving Fisher and Frank
W. Taussig competitions.

Recently, Salisbury University Chapter has been approved for
membership in Omicron Delta Epsilon. We are the Xi Chapter in
Maryland and are the 593rd Chapter in this international organization.
 

Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)

President: Amanda Pritcher

Dr. Thomas Calo, Management & Marketing

 SHRM was created to acquaint students with the human resource field and labor relations.  The club provides learning opportunities through interaction with Human Resource professionals.  It also offers updates on new developments in the field of Human Resource Management.

Sigma Iota Epsilon (SIE)

President:

Faculty Advisor: N/A

SIE is both a professional and national honorary organization, affiliated with the Academy of Management, the largest organization for professors of management.  As a professional organization, it seeks to promote interaction between students and business managers through speakers, field trips and other similar activities.  SIE recognizes academic achievement by initiating deserving members into the national honorary society.

Dean’s Student Advisory Council

President: N/A

The Dean's Student Advisory Council is a leadership-oriented organization headed by the schools student club presidents and open to all business students who wish to actively pursue a leadership role in the Perdue School of Business. The council facilitates communication between students and faculty and assists in the planning of school activities such as Perdue School Day and the graduation reception.
