PSB Students Tour PRMC
Perdue School students had the opportunity to tour Peninsula Regional Medical Center. The following was posted on the PRMC employee website and shared with the PSB:
Talk about Real Life, Real Work experience and bringing the textbook to life.
Nearly 30 Salisbury University students had that opportunity on Wednesday, October 1. They’re in a Supply Chain Materials Management course being taught this semester by Scott Phillips, our director of Supply Chain and Support Systems.
Scott brought the classroom to PRMC earlier this week to give students a “hands-on” look at how inventory is maintained and quality measures managed at PRMC. They toured four areas: OR Core, Central Processing, Central Stores and the Hemodialysis Supply Room up on the floor.
Scott said the kids were “wowed,” and he heard a lot of comments about how the classroom lectures “really make sense now.” He says the group was absolutely impressed with the supply chain efforts at the Medical Center, and in fact, one student approached Scott after the tour to tell him she wanted to chat about a career in materials management.
Thanks Scott and everyone else who helped out on the tour. Great job!
