Fannie Mae Presentation to Finance Students
Zed Cherrix, Stephanie Postles,
Matt Cohen and Morgan Strong in
the PH 255 Finance Research Lab talking to Essentials of Real Estate Finance course students.
By Leonard Arvi
Four alumni of the Perdue School of Business, Zed Cherrix (marketing, ’96), Matt Cohen (finance, ’12), Stephanie Postles (finance, ’12) and Morgan Strong (information systems and Finance, ’12), spoke in different finance classes about Fannie Mae’s associate program on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. They talked about the recruitment process, what the rotation program entails, the details of typical workday, benefits offered on continuing education and what it is like to work at Fannie Mae.
The students were quite interested and asked a lot of pertinent questions to our alumni on the skills need to be successful in the workplace. Students were pleasantly surprised when they learned that Salisbury University has the third largest contingent of associates working at Fannie after George Washington and George Mason universities. The interaction between our alumni and students has helped in the recruitment of several Salisbury University students at Fannie Mae. Cherrix mentioned that SU students were the least likely to leave Fannie Mae, and hence become a target school for Fannie Mae’s recruitment.
