The Experiential Classroom for Entrepreneurship
In spring 2014, the Dean’s Office nominated Bill Burke to attend the Experiential Classroom for Entrepreneurship. As a result of our work with Student Entrepreneurship Competitions, Shore Hatchery, Shark Tank and our involvement in the community, Bill was accepted and attended this program. There he had the opportunity to meet entrepreneurship educators from around the world, including experts in the field such as Dr. Donald Kuratko, Indiana University, and Dr. Michael Morris, University of Florida, and Dr. Karl Vesper, one of the pioneers of entrepreneurship.
In addition to meeting the experts and pioneers, Bill had the opportunity to witness best practices in curriculum, course content, business plans, domestic and international field projects, and related teaching tools. Experientially he met entrepreneurs and participated in workshops, teaching exercises, case studies and a simulation competition.
The participants, leaders, experts and pioneers of entrepreneurship were all impressed with the entrepreneurship programs in the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University.
