Wind and Wings for BEACON
BEACON has been invited to conduct two major studies extending the organization’s regional and international reach.
The MOWER Project focuses on supply chain and workforce challenges involved in building Maryland's first offshore wind energy farm. BEACON is working with the Maryland Energy Administration on this project. The project is funded by the Exxelon Corporation through a grant process managed by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
The ARK at JFK project is a feasibility study being conducted for Goldman Sachs as part of a bond issue for a planned cargo/animal 1uarantine facility at JFK airport in New York. BEACON will collaborate with Owl Creek Consulting, a Maryland Minority Business Enterprise, on this project.
BEACON graduate assistants T'nia Falbo, Alison Tingle, M. Tarik Aybartugu and Darya Tarasova will be working on the two projects under the direct supervision of Dr. Memo Diriker, Director, and Ms. Sarah Bunch, Assistant Director of BEACON. BEACON project assistants Gloria Majchrzak and Timothy Higgins will also assist the graduate assistants.
