Student Spotlight: Davyeon Groves
Hello! My name is Davyeon, and I am in my first, and hopefully last, year as a student in the accelerated M.B.A. program in the Perdue School. I was actually a resident of Salisbury prior to attending the University. My decision to attend Salisbury was based on a more critical approach to the Perdue School graduate program. I knew that I wanted to earn an M.B.A. with a specialization in international business. Although I did not know much about the program at SU, I did not expect to find a specialization in international business. I visited the M.B.A. Program office to inquire about courses in international business. During this visit, the greatest thing happened!
I discovered that, not only did the program offer international courses, but the Perdue School also had an active exchange partnership with Grenoble Ecole de Management in France, one of the highest ranked business schools in Europe. This was a perfect opportunity!
I applied to the Perdue School M.B.A. Program and began courses in France within the same year. Unfortunately, everyone does not get the opportunity to study abroad. Studying abroad is definitely a worthwhile experience. As a student studying abroad, you will be exposed to multiple cultures, personalities, different perspectives, social events and activities. I also benefited by learning a third language while there. I experienced several new things like skiing in the Alps, horseback riding and ice skating, all with an international group of friends and classmates. The program in France lasted one academic year. While experiencing all of the fun and excitement of living in such a remarkable country, I was also able to pursue a master’s degree in management from this esteemed school.
Although I am in my first semester taking graduate business classes, I can say that the faculty and staff are very helpful and pleasant to the students. Perdue Hall is unbelievable! I would definitely recommend the Perdue M.B.A. Program to other interested students.
