Catchin’ Up With … Maryna Simpson
It’s been five short, but very exciting, years since I graduated from Salisbury University. Soon after graduation, I started my professional career with Ernst & Young in their Baltimore Tax Department. I could not have imagined a better place for me to begin my career. I enjoy the challenging fast-paced environment, the commitment to deliver the highest quality product and, most of all, the learning opportunities I encounter every day. As a first-year, tax manager, I have the privilege of working with some of the most intelligent people in the industry: whether they are the clients who I serve, my peers who provide me with guidance and support, or young graduates who are just starting out their careers.
Although I am early in my career, I have accomplished quite a lot starting with my early promotion a year ago. I participate and contribute to all of the firm’s initiatives, including the Professional Women’s Network, EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year program and annual the EY Connect Day, where EY professionals across the United States spend a day working with a charity of their choice. To further my education and career, I am currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Taxation Program at the University of Baltimore.
On a personal note, I have a great husband who I met at Salisbury University. We first met when we both participated in a study abroad program in Berlin and were teamed up for a project – we have been together ever since. We both love to travel and try to visit new places whenever the opportunity arises.
