The clock is winding down – only a couple more days of classes, then final exams. Graduation ceremonies are next week – M.B.A. commencement on the evening of Wednesday, May 20, and undergraduate on Thursday, May 21. It’s hard to believe another year has passed.

We’ve gotten a lot accomplished this year. From earning the highly coveted AACSB accreditation in accounting to launching the Mid-Atlantic Sales and Marketing Initiative, we’re continuing to enhance the reputation of the Perdue School both regionally and nationally.

We just wrapped up our inaugural Entrepreneurship Week, with proclamations from both the City of Salisbury and Wicomico County. We had an incredible amount of support from our faculty and staff as well as from our community and alumni partners. Over the course of the week, through our Shore Hatchery and student competitions, we awarded over $225,000 in cash and in-kind gifts and services to our students and aspiring entrepreneurs from across the region. The week culminated with Shark Tank casting calls held in Perdue Hall. There was an impressive turnout, with 150 pre-registered and over 100 walk-in Shark Tank hopefuls. Stay tuned to see which ones make it on national TV.

Indeed, we’ve had an exciting year in the Perdue School. We try to highlight some of our experiences in each issue of the Perdue News. However, there’s just not enough space to touch on all that’s going on. I encourage you to stop by and visit us the next time you are in the area – you can truly feel the energy when you walk into Perdue Hall.

Good luck to our graduating seniors. We wish you well and know that you will do great things!
