Student Spotlight: Sujana Regmi
I am an international student from Kathmandu, Nepal. Prior to coming to Salisbury University to earn my M.B.A. in August 2011, I worked at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage for a year as a loan servicing specialist. I have an undergraduate degree in management and marketing from Buena Vista University in Iowa.
I chose Salisbury University because my friend referred me to it; and indeed, it has been a great experience. The M.B.A program has presented me an opportunity to not only acquire business knowledge but also put the theoretical knowledge I have learned so far to a practical use. There are M.B.A classes that have allowed me to interact with real clients and work on real-world projects. Project Consulting is one of the classes where my group and I helped our client with their pricing strategy, and we now are working on the marketing strategy. Similarly, my favorite class, Business Corporate Social Responsibility in the M.B.A program, helped me further discover my ideology.
In addition to M.B.A. classes, I have had an opportunity to work as graduate research assistant at BEACON (Business, Economic and Community Outreach Network) at the Perdue School of Business. This position has been a wonderful experience of working on various business and governmental projects. It has honed my skills such as researching, communicating, organizing, managing and leading. I am able to mention such experiences during my job interviews, which has helped me stand out. I am very pleased to say that starting this August, I will be working for KPMG in Baltimore. I am very thankful for the opportunity that I have received at Salisbury University that has prepared me further to achieve my career goals. Also, thank you to all the wonderful people who have been encouraging and supporting to me during any point of time at Salisbury University.
