SWED

Established as a nonprofit corporation and for nearly five decades, Salisbury‐Wicomico Economic Development, Inc. (SWED) has worked to strengthen our economy through the retention, expansion and attraction of jobs and businesses to our community and region.

Though each business is different and needs are different, SWED can assist with site selection, worker training, financing, permitting, licensing, refinement of business plans and much more.

They have developed and forged a strong working relationship with Salisbury University and value the partnership with students, faculty and the administration. They are proud to participate in the various business plan competitions and can point to assistance given to successful entrepreneurs graduating from the school. SWED also appreciates the economic impact of the university to our region.

SWED is a small organization in terms of staff, but their reach is broad thanks to the many partnerships formed over many years. The strength of their effort is the ability for both public and private sectors to come together as one toward common goals.
