Catchin’ Up With … Ron McGann
Ron McGann is a managing director and market manager at the J.P. Morgan Private Bank. He is responsible for the Financial Institutions Principals Group. This group at J.P. Morgan Private Bank has the privilege of working exclusively with individuals in the financial services industry, advising them and their families on a variety of matters – including asset allocation and investment management, traditional capital and liquidity strategies, and wealth transfer opportunities and execution.
Over the past 24 years, Ron has been responsible for developing comprehensive wealth management strategies for hundreds of clients in the industry and he and his team have an understanding of the unique challenges and needs that financial principals face. Ron joined J.P. Morgan in 1989 and began his career in the Residential Real Estate Finance Group. In 1994, Ron was promoted to vice president and team leader of the group. In 1997, he joined the Corporate Executive Client Coverage Team as a relationship manager. Ron then started the Financial Institutions Principals Group in 2000. In October 2008, he was named to Worth Magazine’s Top U.S. Wealth Advisor list.
Ron received his B.A. from Salisbury University and then an M.B.A. in corporate finance from Pace University. He is a member of the advisory boards to the business schools at both Salisbury University and Pace University. He is married to his wife Jennifer, who is also an alumna of Salisbury University. They have three wonderful children (Ryan-17, Abbie-15 and James-11) and reside in New Jersey. While at Salisbury, Ron played on the lacrosse team for four years and continues his passion for the sport by coaching his son’s lacrosse team.
