Visiting Dean from China at Perdue School

Dr. Qingshi “David” Wang, Dean of the School of International Business at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) in Dalian, China spent two weeks as a visiting faculty at the Perdue School in the spring semester. During his visit Dr. Wang met with Dean Moore, the Provost, and the University president to discuss the newly formed exchange agreement between the two universities signed in the Fall. Dean Wang , a Professor of Quantitative Economics, spoke to undergraduate classes in economics, management, and information systems as well as the MBA class on international finance. Dr. Wang also met local business persons by attending the Chamber of Commerce and a lunch with members of the Dean’s advisory board. Dr. Wang was hosted at receptions given by the Perdue School and the Center for International Education as well as dinners hosted by the Provost and Dean Moore. During his visit Dr. Wang was able to view local and regional sites such as Ocean City, Assateague National Seashore, the Naval Academy, Washington, D.C. including a wizards game. The Perdue School conducted their first summer course trip to DUFE in Dalian in Northeast China last summer another program is scheduled for May 30-June 20, 2006 led by Dr. Hong Yao and Dr. Patrick E. McDermott. Provost Buchanan will also visit DUFE this summer.
