International Business Curriculum

Overview

The Franklin P. Perdue School of Business is proud to offer its students a major concentration in Business Administration in the field of International Business. This concentration is designed for students who wish to focus their Business Administration degree on courses which include an international component. Moreover, this concentration of study also provides for developing a background in a foreign language and geo-political studies, both important factors when considering a career in business with an international twist. In addition to the concentration, all students of the Perdue School of Business are required to complete an international course in their field of study in order to meet graduation requirements. The Winter Term Study Abroad program, offered every January, is an option available to all Perdue School students to fulfill their international requirement in a global setting as a portion of the class takes place in an overseas location.

The International Business Concentration

As a growing number of large and small U.S. firms transact a portion of their business through international channels, business administration graduates are becoming increasingly involved with international aspects of business. This track allows students to gain the knowledge and skills required for international business careers, while developing their understanding of the mechanisms and institutions of international business.

Since the Perdue School of Business' curriculum allows multiple majors, concentrations and tracks, students may combine such areas as accounting, finance, marketing, management and information systems management with international business, giving themselves an international business education.

Following is a list of requirements for the International Business Concentration (students must complete lower-division pre-professional business requirements and FINA 311, MGMT 320 and MKTG 330) prior to enrolling in these upper-division business courses):

I. Core Courses II. Elective Courses III. Geography
IV. Political Science V. Foreign Language
