PACE research teams consist of 2-6 students/faculty members who work together on projects that benefit the local community (Town/Local/State Governments). These teams are formed when a client calls on PACE to gather information, conduct research and make recommendations or a faculty member develops a project to investigate a local policy issue.

Grant Projects on Local Issues

In the Fall 2004, we worked on a Wicomico County Voter Education Initiative relative to the November 2004 Referendum on Amending the Wicomico County Charter to Create an Elected Executive. This project was funded by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore). This project was led by Dr. Harry Basehart and was managed by Maureen McNeill (project consultant) and Pauline Gehnrich.

Survey Research Projects

Survey research is conducted by PACE on a fee-for-service contractual basis using Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) equipment. Dr. Harry Basehart supervises the work on the surveys and our student Survey Research Project Coordinator assists him. Salisbury University students are hired to conduct the telephone interviews. A wide variety of survey services are available, including opinion polls and data analysis for government agencies, professional associations, businesses and non-profit organizations.
