Guidelines for Response papers

• Length: About 2 pages
• Identify in a concise manner the topic or issue at hand
  (You may focus on one or two issues that interested you.)
• Reflect upon the topic. You need not summarize; you can assume the reader has read the readings and attended the class.

Some Prompts

(These are just questions to get you thinking. Feel free to develop your reflection in other ways that you think might be valuable to you.)

• Summarize the main points of the readings and what was brought up by the speaker(s) or panel discussion.
• What are specific points that you agree or disagree with? Why?
• Did the talk, readings or panel discussion affect or change your ideas of civic engagement, government, or politics?
