1. Fall 2009 Citizen Workshop: Fundamental
Experience Seminar
Take this one-credit
class:
IDIS 280-004, Wed.
4:30 to 5:20 p.m.

Response Paper Guidelines
2. One Academic Experience (A
One-Credit
Course) Fall 2010 or Spring 2010
Presidential Citizen Scholars should take one of
the
Civic Engagement
Seminar in Fall 2009 or Spring 2010. Scholars may also satisfy this
requirement if they are taking a Fulton School course that has civic
engagement as its enhancement. A list of Fulton courses will soon be
posted. PACE will sponsor several one-credit seminar classes in the
spring.

explore other academic experiences that
might fulfill this
requirement.
3. Three Civic Events/Lectures
Attend
two on-campus events/lectures and one
off-campus civic meeting (Ex.: Salisbury City Council, Board of
Education, Town Gown Council meeting*, Chamber of Commerce, Non-profit groups, County
Council) and write a reflection for
each. *See PACE for dates.

4. Community Experience
Volunteer to work
a total of 6 hours for
an organization or group of your choice.
Fill out a
Volunteer Experience Form on
the organization and
write a reflective essay on your
experience.

5. Attend at least one PACE event in the
Spring (Powerlunch, Hargreaves Legislative Fellow Day, Spring Social)
6. Write a three-page paper reflecting on your experiences in
this
program.
