The Governor’s Summer Internship Program introduces college students to the unique challenges and rewards of working within Maryland State Government. Interns work full-time and are paid a stipend of $2,500 for 10 weeks of work. Interns work with senior level public administrators in various state agencies or the Governor’s Office on projects that correspond to students’ academic interests and long term career goals. Duties often include researching, developing and presenting policy papers to the Governor that address some of Maryland’s most pressing social and economic problems, and attending seminars. Applicants must be entering their junior or senior year during the fall semester with a GPA of 3.00 or higher. All majors are strongly encouraged to apply. Interested students are asked to contact the Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (PACE) to obtain application materials: e-mail: pace or 410-677-5045. Deadline for applications to be received by PACE is usually sometime in February.
