Our Institute's ongoing programs include the following:

Presidential Citizen Scholar Program
This program offers sophomores, juniors and seniors, from diverse majors and levels of experience, the opportunity to learn, by active participation in public forums and classes, habits of good citizenship.

College Student Voting Program
To engage our students about the importance of voting, this program offers student teams the opportunity to help the students on our campus register to vote by sponsoring a Voter Registration Drive every fall semester.

Public Policy Lectures and Election Forums

PACE sponsors lectures and forums during the academic year.  Some of these are open to the public and others are specifically for faculty, staff and students.

American Democracy Project
In Fall 2004, Salisbury University joined the American Democracy Project. (ADP), which is a cooperative initiative linking 430 public colleges and universities around the nation that are committed to advancing undergraduate civic engagement. ADP is sponsored by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU).

PACE student internships with local and state government, law firms, and non-profit organizations are offered to SU students to enrich their educational experiences

John R. Hargreaves Distinguished Legislative Fellow Program
This program honors a member of the Maryland General Assembly for his or her outstanding contributions to state government. SU students meet with fellows to learn about the nature of representative democracy directly from these legislators. Previous Distinguished Legislative Fellows from the Maryland House of Delegates: Delegate Michael E. Busch, Speaker of the Maryland House of Representatives, Delegate Sheila E. Hixson, Delegate Norman H. Conway, and Delegate Howard P. Rawlings. From the Maryland State Senate, previous fellows include: Senator J. Lowell Stoltzfus, Senator Thomas V.
