was Carrie Kellams. Carrie was a biology major.
The fourth Thomas E. Bellavance intern (2004 - 2005) was Owen
Jarvis. Owen was a senior English and Philosophy double major.
Owen represented students on the SU Government Relations Committee.
After graduation he attended law school.
third Thomas E. Bellavance Intern (2003 - 2004) was Brian Young.
Brian was a senior political science and history double major from
Bel Air, Maryland. Active in his community since the age of
six, Young has been involved in numerous facets of civic engagement,
ranging from his service as an Eagle Scout to his work in the
offices of Congressman Wayne Gilchrest and Delegate Barry Glassman.
Young's leadership experience and past volunteer work include the
founding of the Union for Community Action at Salisbury University
in the fall of 2002. Brian represented students on the SU
Government Relations Committee. After graduation he
attended law school.
second Thomas E. Bellavance Intern (2002 - 2003) was Ron
Cirillo. Ron was a senior political science and
conflict resolution/peace studies double major from Denton,
Maryland. In addition to holding a seat in the
University's Student Government Association, he also represents
students on the SU Government Relations Committee. He has
been active in Salisbury community affairs including the recent
mayoral campaign and has worked in the downtown law offices of
Laws and Robertson. After graduation he attended graduate
school in international intelligence and strategy.
first Thomas E. Bellavance Intern (2001 - 2002) was Carson
Friedman. Carson was a senior political science major
from Walkersville, Maryland. Previously to receiving this award,
she had already interned for the Population Resource Center in
Washington and Salisbury University's own Government Relations
Committee. During her internship, she won the University's
“Outstanding Community Service Award” for tutoring migrant
students. After graduation she received a scholarship to attend
graduate school in International Studies.
