Seagull X-perience
June 26th-June 29th

The transition from high school to college can be tricky and a bit unnerving, but it can also be fun! Experience what Salisbury University has to offer and meet other new students with the brand new Seagull X-perience sponsored by the Student Government Association. Students will also have the opportunity to opt for their Preview orientation day to be on Friday June 26. This way they are able to come to campus for the Preview session in the morning and extend their visit starting that afternoon by participating in Seagull X-perience. Students will stay on campus in a residence hall for four days and three nights while having the time of their lives. The Friday Preview day is not mandatory, but it is strongly encouraged that students take advantage of the day.
A volunteer group of two university staff members and ten peer leaders will guide a group of 50 new students as they experience Seagull Spirit and personal growth over the course of the program. Students will learn about themselves and each other through activities and fun designed just for them by fellow Seagulls. The new Seagulls will learn how to manage their time, get the ins and outs of real college life, build a strong and trusting team, and find out how to become an involved student at Salisbury University. Events include a midnight pep rally, day trip to Ocean City, and the X-treme Seagull Challenge. For the X-treme Seagull Challenge on the last full day, students will be split into teams and compete against one another in a variety of events for the chance to be named "Top Flock." Everyone participates and works as a team in events that include easy to moderate physical activity, some critical thinking, and, of course, showing off school pride.
Physical demands are easy, and students will need to provide their own hygiene products as well as sheets and pillows for the XL twin beds in the residence hall. Food, housing, supplies, and a team shirt for the X-treme Seagull Challenge are provided through the cost of the program and the SGA.
