The purpose of the New Student Reader Program is to orient new students to our academic community at Salisbury University by having a common reading experience with fellow classmates, faculty, staff, and upper-class students who serve as orientation team peer leaders.
The goal of the New Student Reader Program is to engage students in discussions, projects, curricular and co-curricular opportunities generated by a common reading experience.

Salisbury University has been
offering summer outdoor program experiences to the
incoming freshman class for 30 years. These optional but
highly recommended experiences combine outdoor adventure
with an introduction to what it takes to achieve success
in college. Explore the PDF brochure below to learn more
about the eight programs offered in 2012. Registration
begins on May 10, 2012 through your GullNet account.
Note: Spaces in the Outdoor
Programs are limited and tend
to fill quickly. Registration is conducted on a first come, first served basis. We recommend you register as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.
Programs require an additional fee, which varies based
upon program length and destination.

New Student Orientation is a four day transition program
comprised of residence hall move in, commuter connections,

another, and social fun. All
new freshmen students (both residential and commuter) are
required to attend all orientation programs.
Freshmen students move in to the residence halls on
Monday, January 21. Please refer to the information you were provided from Housing and Residence Life about your exact move-in time and directions. Please contact the Housing and Residence Life Office at 410-543-6040 if you have specific questions.

your orientation fee.

After your new student orientation ends, the campus prepares
for all students to return and kicks off a week of welcome
back events during the first week of
classes. All
new and returning students are welcome to attend any and all
events hosted by the Welcome Week Committee
- this is a great way to connect with your new friends and to
make connections with upper-class students.
We
encourage all new students to attend the Student Activities
Fair during Welcome Week. This is a fun and easy
opportunity for you to find out what different clubs and
organizations are on campus and to get connected.
