Public Relations and Publications Guidelines
Publicity & Media Relations
(PDF) Professional writers and media and public relations experts are
available to assist
the campus community with promotion of significant achievements and
campus-sponsored, community-oriented activities. Free media services include
press releases, public service announcements, calendar listings, contacts,
etc. It is University policy that all contact with off-campus media and
public relations professionals come through the Public Relations Office,
located in Holloway Hall Room 140.
Publications Office
(PDF) Professional writers, editors and graphic designers are available to
assist the campus community with their publications needs for
University-sponsored activities. For a small fee, design services are
available for the production of t-shirts, give-aways, brochures,
newsletters, posters, programs, etc. Both PC and Macintosh formats are supported. Guidance on
appropriate use of copyrighted materials is available. It is University
policy that all materials that may be viewed by an off-campus audience must
be created and/or approved through Publications, located in Holloway Hall
Room 271.
Copy Center (PDF)
The Copy Center provides quality, prompt, affordable copying and binding to
all members of the University community. Guidance on appropriate use of
copyrighted materials is available. Located in the basement of Holloway Hall
(entrance facing Blackwell Library), the Copy Center employees can provide
specific prices and services.
Style Guide (PDF)
To establish consistency and retain quality in the printed materials
representing Salisbury University, the Public Relations and Publications
offices use The Associated Press Stylebook and Libel Manual. For SU
publications, there are a few exceptions and special rules outlined in the
following guide. All publications being distributed off campus must adhere
to this style.

Logo Download Requests
(Available to the campus community only)
To ensure proper
representation of the SU logo, the Publications Office provides
the following high-quality logos for members of the campus
community to download and insert in their documents.
If you have a logo need not met by the
logos provided, please contact the Publications Office at
410-548-2500 and a designer will provide you with the format of
the logo that best meets your needs.

SU Logo Licensing Requests
In order to comply with and assure
protection under federal trademark law (15 U.S.C. 1051 et seq.),
the administrators of the Salisbury University brand are
required to monitor the uses of its trademarks. As such, those
outside entities wishing to use the SU logo must have the
Universities permission – established through a logo license –
to use the logo and must comply with the
SU Graphic Standards Manual..

community with creating PowerPoints that represent the
University in a professional manner, the Publications Office
provides two templates. The templates include high-quality logos
and backgrounds/fonts in the official colors of SU.
