SU/USG Respiratory Therapy Students Earn Scholarships

SALISBURY, MD---Five students enrolled in Salisbury University’s Respiratory Therapy Program offered at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) recently earned scholarships ranging from $2,000 to full tuition.

Sandra SampongTarnue JallahJunior Sandra Sampong, a native of Ghana in West Africa who currently lives in Gaithersburg, MD, earned the Camille and Clifford Kendall Endowed Scholarship. Covering full tuition and fees, the award is made possible by Kendall, a member of the Shady Grove Board of Advisors, and his wife. USG Kendall Scholars participate in a mentor/mentee program and also must show high potential for success and prior service to others.

Junior Tarnue Jallah, a native of Liberia in West Africa who currently lives in Montgomery Village, MD, earned a $2,000 Legislative Scholarship from Maryland Senator Nancy King of District 39. USG legislative scholarships are made possible by funds designated by representatives of students’ legislative districts.

Renadin SiagatEdna CheAdetoun AdewoleThree $2,500 Kaiser Permanente Scholarships were awarded to juniors Adetoun Adewole, of Nigeria, West Africa, and Ashton, MD; Nehlum “Edna” Che of Cameroon, West Africa and Silver Spring, MD; and Renadin Siagat of Cameroon and Burtonsville, MD.  These awards are designed to support students majoring in health care-related programs to ultimately help provide affordable, high-quality health care services to communities.
