Volunteer Center Town Meetings Scheduled

SALISBURY, MD---As part of an effort to mobilize volunteers on the Mid and Upper Shore, a team of local leaders have begun planning to organize a volunteer center offering services that assist communities in addressing unmet human, environmental, educational and public safety needs.

During April and May a series of Volunteer Center Town Meetings will be held to help planners bring volunteer services to communities in the region. A team of local leaders are conducting a feasibility study and the results will be announced at the meetings.

The meetings are on: Wednesday, April 19, Kent County Board of Education, 3:30-6:30 p.m.; Monday, May 1, Denton Public Library, 6 p.m.; Tuesday, May 2, Chesapeake College Performing Arts Center Room 1, 7 p.m.; Monday, May 8, Federalsburg Library, 6 p.m.; Wednesday, May 10, Cambridge Department of Social Services, 627 Race Street, 7 p.m.; Wednesday, May 17, Easton, Talbot Library, 4 p.m.; and Thursday, May 25, Elkton, Cecil County Arts Council, 135 Main Street, 6:30 p.m.
