'Unity Through Diversity' Faculty Art Show Opens September 5

SALISBURY, MD---New and veteran members of Salisbury University’s Art Department showcase their works during “Unity Through Diversity,” the department’s fifth annual faculty art show, September 5-28 in the University Gallery of Fulton Hall.

An opening reception, held in connection with the Department of Music, is Friday, September 5. Department of Music faculty hold a concert from 6-7 p.m. in Fulton Hall Room 112. The exhibit reception follows from 7-8 p.m. in the gallery.

Curated by art faculty Ed Brown and Ursula Ehrhardt, he exhibit features a unique mix of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photography, mixed media and digital prints produced by 20 full and part-time art faculty members, as well as photographer and sculptor James Hatley of the Philosophy Department.

Included are works from Jeanne Anderton, Gary Brotman, Brown, Marie Cavallaro, Alison Chism, John Cleary, Jessica Cross Davis, Paul Flexner, Carl Goldhagen, Jim Hill, Marjorie Hill, Susan Holt, Jinchul Kim, Sanaz Labaf-Zadeh, Sally Molenda, Pam Olszewski, Dean Peterson, Jennifer Poe, Preston Poe and Brooke Rogers. Faculty speak on their works during a panel discussion during the exhibit, date and time to be announced.

Molenda’s handmade books and other works are on display in the Fulton Hall Lobby as part of “Small Works,” a display held in connection with the “Unity Through Diversity” exhibit.
