UAS Hosts Fashion Show to Benefit AIDS Awareness

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Union of African-American Students sponsors the fashion show “One Step Closer” to help raise awareness of AIDS 8 p.m. Saturday, February 26, in Holloway Hall Auditorium. BET’s Teen Summitt, Jay Coop and Sharonne Bailey of P&G Salon host the event featuring singer Jamie Wallop and the designs of Karma, Envious Coutout and Head Over Heals. “Our main goal was to help the Salisbury the community,” said UAS member Crystal Jenkins. “AIDS is still a taboo subject. We wanted to do something educational and entertaining.” Proceeds benefit the Fruitland Community Center and Project Sisterhood. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door; $5 in advance, $7 at the door with any college ID. Advance tickets are on sale at the Guerrieri University Center Information Desk.
