Tornado Watch Extended for Wicomico, Surrounding Areas Until 11 p.m. Feb. 24

The tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) for Wicomico and surrounding counties has been extended until 11 p.m. Wednesday, February 24.

A watch is issued when conditions are favorable for the formation of a tornado.


5:32 p.m.

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University Police have issued an all-clear.  The emergency alert that was issued has now expired.

A tornado watch remains in effect for Wicomico and surrounding counties until 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 24. A watch is issued when conditions are favorable for the formation of a tornado.

Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and locally heavy rainfall also are possible during this time. In addition, a coastal flood advisory is in effect until 7 a.m. Thursday, February 25.

SALISBURY, MD---The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado warning for Wicomico and surrounding counties.  Those on campus should seek shelter immediately in a predesignated place of safety inside a building, away from glass.
