'The Good Thief' Comes to SU September 12-14

SALISBURY, MD---Guest artist John Ebert inaugurates Salisbury University Theatre’s fall season with his solo performance of Irish playwright Connor McPherson’s The Good Thief.

Performances are Friday-Saturday, September 12-13, and Sunday, September 14. Curtain is at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

This dramatic contemporary work brings to life the fate of a hit man from Dublin, Ireland, as he reveals the day everything went wrong in his life. In his story, a failed shakedown leads to a tragic flight with two innocents and eventually prison.

“It’s got the feeling of a Roman Polanski or Quentin Tarantino movie to it,” Ebert said. “It’s gritty.”

Known for his work as a commercial director, Ebert is stretching his directorial – and in this case his acting – talents into other areas, including stage productions and films. His first feature-length movie, Fortunate Son, was filmed in Salisbury and premiered at SU in May.

The Good Thief contains adult language and situations and is recommended for mature audiences only. General admission is $10, $8 for seniors. SU ID card holders are admitted free.
