Streets to Be Closed for SU Homecoming Parade Oct. 12

Sammy the Sea GullSALISBURY, MD---Colorful floats and more fill the streets surrounding the Salisbury University athletic fields during SU’s Homecoming Parade 10-11 a.m. Saturday, October 12.

The Homecoming court joins student organizations during this lively event, beginning and ending near Sea Gull Stadium on Avery Street.

“We believe the added attraction of a parade over this celebratory weekend will not only increase school spirit, but will also strengthen the relationship between the University and the surrounding community,” said Khellya Okunor Osei, SU Student Government Association (SGA) senator and parade organizer.

The following streets will be closed for the parade at 10 a.m., with individual intersections reopening as the procession passes:

  • Avery Street
  • Power Street
  • Wayne Street between Avery and Power streets
  • Bateman Street between the railroad tracks and South Division Street
  • South Division Street from Power Street to Avery Street

Sponsored by the SGA, admission to the parade is free and the public is invited. The parade is rain or shine. For more information call 410-543-6125 or visit the SU website at www.salisbury.edu.
