'Start and Manage Your Own Business' at SU

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) co-sponsors an eight-week “Start and Manage Your Own Business" seminar at SU on consecutive Wednesdays through November 12 and at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills on consecutive Tuesdays from October 28-December 16.

The SU course is held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Power Professional Building on Wayne Street. The Chesapeake College course is held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The seminar focuses on techniques for effectively managing a small business.

Topics include start-up and operating procedures, ownership forms of operation, sources and methods of financing, recordkeeping, communications, debt collection, personnel, merchandising and business continuity. Instructors discuss overcoming problems and pitfalls frequently encountered in running small businesses.

Cost is $88 per person at SU, $80 per person at Chesapeake. The SBDC, Wor-Wic Community College and Maryland Capital Enterprises Inc. sponsor the seminars. The program is an extended version of the SBDC’s monthly “How to Start and Manage Your Own Business” course.
