Spring Senior Art Exhibit Features Best of SU's Class of 2005

SALISBURY, MD---Fresh, innovative artwork from Salisbury University’s Class of 2005 is displayed Friday-Saturday, May 6-14, in the University Gallery of Fulton Hall during the 32nd annual Spring Senior Art Exhibition. Student present portfolios featuring paintings, drawings, blown glass, ceramics, photography and graphic design pieces during an opening reception 6-8 p.m. The exhibit marks the culmination of the Senior Seminar art class, which provides real-world experience for some 32 students by allowing them to create and display artworks. Students are involved in all facets of the show, from promotion to art selection. The show follows last semester’s annual Fall Senior Art Exhibition, added to accommodate the Art Department’s rapidly growing enrollment. “This exhibit allows the students to show what they can do with what they learned during their time at SU,” said Dr. Jim Hill, Art Department chair and faculty advisor for the spring show. “It’s a chance for them to shine.” “These exhibitions allow our students the important opportunity to show their artworks in a gallery setting as they prepare to pursue careers in the art world,” said Brooke Rogers, who also serves as faculty advisor. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and noon-4 p.m. on weekends. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited. For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the SU Web site at
