Senior Games Early Registration Deadline Sunday, March 27

SALISBURY, MD---Everyone grows old. Some just find different ways to enjoy it. With help from Salisbury University, seniors on the Delmarva Peninsula are celebrating their age during the sixth annual Eastern Shore Senior Games, scheduled Thursday-Saturday, April 21-23. Some 3,000 registration booklets are already in the mail for this year’s events. Participants compete in a variety of athletic activities, both individual and team. More than 400 senior athletes took part in 2004. Events include aquatics, archery, badminton, billiards, bowling, cycling, floor and foul basketball shooting, golf, horseshoes, racquetball, table tennis, tennis, and track and field. Team events include softball and volleyball. Participants also are sought for a non-competitive line dancing exhibition in connection with the opening reception 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center. The games are open to men and women age 50 and over. The registration fee is $25 before Sunday, March 27, $50 after on a space-available basis. Registration deadline is midnight Sunday, March 27. Participation is open to residents of Maryland, Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Virginia. A current Motor Vehicle Administration ID is required as proof of eligibility. Age for competition is determined by the participant’s age as of December 31, 2005.
