Second PAC 14 Surgical Program Premieres Thursday, May 18

SALISBURY, MD---PAC 14 returns to the operating room this month as the public access channel’s Focus on Health series premieres its second recorded-live surgical procedure from Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

This time, a high-definition camera follows Dr. Brion L. McCutcheon of Lischick, Walker, Kerrigan and Associates, P.A., as he performs a laparoscopic cholescystectomy-better known as gallbladder removal surgery. The program premieres 10 p.m. Thursday, May 18.

The 48-minute procedure is the second filmed by PAC 14. The first, a knee surgery conducted by Dr. Pasquale Patrera, orthopedic surgeon with Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates, aired last summer as the first surgery to be recorded at Peninsula Regional for public broadcast. Additional episodes of the series featuring recorded surgeries are scheduled later this year.

Produced by PAC 14 and Dr. Mary DiBartolo of Salisbury University’s Nursing Department, Focus on Health has covered community health issues on PAC 14 for the past six years. PAC 14 is operated as a partnership between SU, the City of Salisbury and Wicomico County.
