SU's Winger Published in 'PLOS ONE' Open-Access Journal

E. J. WingerSALISBURY, MD---An article co-authored by E.J. Winger (AKA Sarah E. Jardeleza), assessment coordinator in Salisbury University’s Office of University Analysis, Reporting and Assessment, recently was published in PLOS ONE, the first multidisciplinary open-access journal.

In the article, Winger and her co-authors discussed the development of their Three-Dimensional Learning Assessment Protocol.

The tool was designed to characterize and support the development of higher education assessment tasks in biology, chemistry and physics that align with the transformation currently taking place in kindergarten-through-12th-grade science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) teaching. The protocol aligns with science curricula and instruction restructured through the National Research Council’s Framework for K-12 Science Education.

Winger’s co-authors include J.T. Laverty of Kansas State University; Sonia Underwood of Florida International University; and Rebecca Matz, Lynmarie Posey, Justin Carmel, Marcos Caballero, Cori Fata-Hartley, Diane Ebert-May and Melanie Cooper of Michigan State University.
