SU Theatre Presents 'The Great Books on Broadway' November 16-19

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University hosts the dinner theatre production “The Great Books on Broadway: A Musical Revue” Friday-Sunday, November 16-19, in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.

Featuring songs from productions such as Oliver, Little Women and Ragtime, the performance is 8 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The buffet features tortellini marinara, grilled London broil, chicken Chesapeake, salad, vegetables and a cash bar. Two non-dinner shows are 8 pm. Thursday, November 16, and 2 p.m. Sunday, November 19.

“Every semester we choose a theme around which we select songs from a multitude of shows.  Our theme this semester is musicals based on great works of literature,” said Dr. Darrell Mullins, chair of the Communication and Theatre Arts Department, who co-produces the revue with Dr. William Folger, director of choral activities at SU.

About 25 students in the Musical Theatre Workshop course perform. Also featured are three alumni as singers and as a choreographer, Mullins said.

Sponsored by the Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts, admission to the dinner theatre is $30. Reservations are required by Wednesday, November 15. For the show-only performances, reservations are recommended and admission is $10. SU ID holders receive one ticket free. The public is invited.
