SU Named Among Colleges of Distinction

2012 Colleges of Distinction 2013SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University has been selected as a 2012-2013 College of Distinction.
Salisbury is “continuing to provide students with the highest level of undergraduate education,” said founder Wes Creel. He also noted the University’s ongoing commitment to the Four Distinctions:  Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Communities and Successful Outcomes.

“I’m pleased that Salisbury University is again recognized among Colleges of Distinction nationwide,” said President Janet Dudley-Eshbach. “Opportunities for research and internships enrich our excellent academic program. Students earn prestigious honors, such as the Fulbright Fellowship, and many choose to study abroad or volunteer in the local community. Award-winning faculty and staff also model excellence. Our reputation as A Maryland University of National Distinction continues to grow.”

Started 10 years ago, the Colleges of Distinction Web site helps young people, and their families and counselors, find campuses that are right for them. According to Creel, the institutions that are included “are dedicated to helping students grow and learn how to succeed for the rest of their lives.”

Last fall, for the 15th consecutive year, SU was named one of U.S. News & World Report’s Top Public Regional Universities in the North (the only Maryland campus on that list). For the 13th consecutive year, SU also was among The Princeton Review’s Best 376 Colleges. The campus also is consistently one of Kiplinger’s Top 100 “Best Values” in public colleges.

This year’s Colleges of Distinction e-Guidebook will be available to the public through Amazon.com. Over 50,000 counselors nationwide will also receive an electronic copy.
