SU NAACP Student Chapter Raises Funds For Attack Victim

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University NAACP student chapter is raising furnds for the victim of a recent dog attack, Hellen Ellis.

"We are asking all students to donate one dollar," said Dale Graham, chapter president.

The victim is currently in shock trauma, awaiting surgery to have one of her arms amputated.  The other arm is also in question.  However, due to her age (65) and rising temperature, doctors are unable to perform surgery at this time, Graham said.

"We feel the need to make a difference, especially in the lives of those persons who need our support the most," he said.

NAACP students are maintaining tables at the front of the Commons and in the Holloway Hall lobby for the Fatima Robinson presentation at 8 p.m. Monday, September 29, as well as soliciting classes. The Sea Gull football team has already contributed. Donations may also be made at the SU Office of Multiethnic Student Services (MSS) and the NAACP Office in the Students Activities wing, all located in the Guerrieri University Center.
