SU Hosts Sexual Dysfunction Treatment Workshop Feb. 24

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Michael Plaut speaks on origins and treatments of sexual dysfunction 9 a.m.-noon Friday, February 24, in the Wicomico Room of Salisbury University’s Guerrieri University Center.

During the three-hour workshop, Plaut describes various types of sexual dysfunction and offers health professionals techniques for presenting, evaluating and treating sexual problems. He also discusses the importance of taking basic sexual histories from all patients, roles health professionals play in evaluation and treatment, how to refer patients appropriately and how to find qualified specialists for referral.

Other topics include the emerging roles of the Internet, complementary medicine, new medical treatments and the value of multi-disciplinary approaches to evaluation and treatment.

Sponsored by the SU Social Work, Nursing and Psychology departments, registration for the workshop is $50, $25 for SU and University of Maryland Eastern Shore students with ID.
