SU Hosts Annual Field Day Saturday, May 7"

class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University unveils the 2005 edition of its student literary magazine Mid-Atlantic Review during a reading by acclaimed poet Martha Rhodes 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12, in the Worcester Room of the Commons. Selections from Mid-Atlantic Review also will be presented.

class=""MsoNormal"">The author of three poetry collections—Mother Quiet (Zoo Press, 2005), Perfect Disappearance (New Issues Press, 2000) and At the Gate (Provincetown Arts, 1995)—Rhodes teaches at the M.F.A. Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College and at Sarah Lawrence College. She is a founding editor and director of Four Way Books, an independent literary press in New York City.

class=""MsoNormal"">Rhodes has earned praise for her poetry. Perfect Disappearance won the inaugural Green Rose Prize from New Issues and Western Michigan University. Poet and critic James Longenbach says of Mother Quiet, “these poems display a poet in command of every note the English language is capable of sounding.” Her reading is free and the public is invited.
