SSU Host Writers Workshop July 9-20" 

SALISBURY, MD -- Young writers will be given the opportunity to enhance their skills at the Student Writers Workshop 2001 on July 9-20 from 9 a.m. to noon at Salisbury State University.

The workshop, sponsored by the Eastern Shore Writing Project at SSU, is open to students in grades three to eight and divided into two sections based on grade level. The cost is $180 per student, or $150 each if two or more writers from the same family attend.

The workshop includes peer reviews, one and a one-half hours of daily computer time and personalized instruction with Teacher-Consultants of the writing project who are teachers in Wicomico or Worcester counties. The student to teacher ratio is 12:1.

Students may write on a topic of their choice and at the end of the session, their works will be published in an anthology.
