Rosalyn Terborg-Penn Talk Rescheduled Thursday, March 10

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Rosalyn Terborg-Penn of Morgan State University speaks on “The African Diaspora” 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center at Salisbury University. Keynoting SU’s celebration of African American History Month, her talk was rescheduled from an earlier date. Terborg-Penn is a history professor with a specialty in African-American women. She is the co-founder and first national director of the Association of Black Women Historians, and a history editor of Feminist Studies. She has written many works on African American women’s history including Women in Africa and the African Diaspora: A Reader and Black Women’s History at the Intersection of Knowledge and Power. Her book African American Women in the Struggle for the Vote: 1850-1920 won the Letitia Woods Brown Memorial Book Prize. She also is senior editor for the second edition of Black Women in America: An Historical Encyclopedia and co-editor of The Columbia University Guide to African-American History Since 1939.
