'Restaurant Smart Start' Seminar June 23

SALISBURY, MD---The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Salisbury University offers entrepreneurs advice for breaking into the restaurant business with its Restaurant Smart Start course 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, June 23, in the Frederick Room of the Commons. Presenter Casey Willson, a 30-year veteran of retailing, education and business in the Washington, D.C., area, offers information on restaurant types, location and traffic access, managing perishable inventory, menu and price planning, vendor and employee relations, marketing and what constitutes true customer care in a food service establishment. The course does not cover generic issues of starting a business such as legal entity, licensing, tax registration and setting up books, which are topics covered through the SBDC’s monthly “Smart Start Your Business” course.
