Respite Care Course Scheduled in Cambridge, MD

SALISBURY, MD---With life expectancies increasing and populations growing older, respite care businesses are in demand.

Mid-Shore residents can learn how to start, manage and market a respite care business through a six-hour, two-part course co-sponsored by Salisbury University’s Small Business Development Center 6:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, September 17-24 at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School.

Seven professionals present information concerning state licensing and certification, insurance needs, accounting and tax procedures, legal issues, the role of the health department, effective marketing strategies, developing business plans and acquiring loans for business start-up or expansion.

Cost is $10 and includes course materials and certificates of completion. The course is offered through a partnership between Maryland Capital Enterprises Inc., the Small Business Development Center and the Alzheimer’s Association Eastern Shore Regional Office.
